8th Conferences about Cinema in Portuguese

This publication brings together seven of the nine communications presented during the VIII Conferences on Portuguese Language Cinema that took place between 9th and 11th November 2015 in UBI, and which were organized by LabCom.IFP, of the Faculty of Arts
and Letters of the University of Beira Interior. Over the last decade, the Portuguese Language Cinema has been a central concern of the Cinema courses of Bachelor and master's degree in UBI, seeking to contribute to a reflection on the past, present and future of our film experience and continuing a project developed by LabCom.IFP, in the cinema research line, with the aim of promoting regular gatherings of scholars and researchers of cinema made in Portugal and in the countries that share the Portuguese language. The image chosen for this publication’s cover is also a tribute to the filmmaker José Fonseca e Costa, an important figure in the Portuguese Cinema, who died in 2015.
